Thermostatically controlled
Engineered for professionals, the TKO 170 combines portability with knockout heating strength to eliminate bed bugs, drywood termites and stored product pests. It has a 160 degree temperature rise and is ductable up to 50 feet. Additionally, the heater can be partially recirculated to boost performance and capacity!
The TKO 170 sits outside of the treatment space and delivers fresh, heated air into the structure with the supplied mylar duct (via access through a window, door, etc.). A convenient, direct connection high-temperature on/off digital thermostat is also supplied with the heater, which eliminates the need for additional extension cords and to manually adjust the gas flow to control the temperature. There are also redundant safeties built-in to the heater, including high-temperature limit switch, airflow switch, and flame detection switch.
Since the TKO 170 Pest Heater is certified for indoor use, it can be placed in well-ventilated hallways and ducted into treatment areas. Do not place the heater inside the treatment area, as it does not have carbon monoxide safeties and dual blowers designed to lower the discharge temperature. If you would like to place a heater directly in the treatment space, you’ll want to consider the Sleeptight 800.
Power and Fuel Requirements: Power requirements are (1) 15 amp circuit breaker/standard wall outlet. Heater requires a minimum of 3-40lb propane tanks ( two 40 lb tanks may be sufficient in warmer climates). We recommend the use of a minimum of (6) High Temperature, High Velocity Air Movers to ensure optimal heat penetration throughout your space.
Please note: Cold weather, poorly insulated rooms, vaulted ceilings, and concrete walls/floors may impact the time required to achieve kill temperatures (120º-140ºF) as well as the capacity of the heater. Please take exact measurements of your space before ordering this product. If your treatment space is larger than 1,200 sq ft, even slightly, this heater may NOT ACHIEVE the above referenced recommended temperature range.
