Elite 8 Electric Bed Bug Heater Product Features:

The Elite 8 is a 26,000 BTU bed bug heater that is capable of treating up to 400 sq ft with 8′ ceilings. The heater has 8 heating elements drawing 8 amps per element, for a total of 64 amps at 120 volts. In this package configuration, the heater is powered via eight 12 gauge extension cords, via standard 110v wall outlets (see power requirements below). The heater has an integrated axial fan with on-board digital temperature control and a max temperature setting of 140 degrees, preventing the overheating of rooms; it can also be set at lower temperatures if desired. The air mover ensures optimal heat penetration throughout your space and the infrared thermometer is used to verify that every square inch of the space has reached your desired temperature.
Power requirements: DO NOT use this equipment in any structure with outdated power, including aluminum wiring, and push-in or screw-in fuses. This heater has 8 power inlets, each of which draw approximately 8 amps of power. Therefore, power requirements are (8) 15 amp circuit breakers, (4) 20 amp circuit breakers or a combination of (4) 15 amp circuit breakers and (2) 20 amp circuit breakers.
Please note: Electric bed bug heaters generally require one to several hours to reach kill temperatures (120º-140ºF); cold weather, poorly insulated rooms, vaulted ceilings, concrete walls/floors, and inadequate power supply may also impact the time required to achieve kill temperatures as well as the capacity of the heater. Please take exact measurements of your space before ordering this product. If your treatment space is larger than 400 sq ft, even slightly, this heater may NOT ACHIEVE the above referenced recommended temperature range. After consulting with a Terminix inspector and hearing the likely price for using multiple chemicals for an undetermined period (Terminix no longer does heat treatment because customers often would not prepare the site according to directions), I decided to purchase this equipment and do it myself. Jen L. was very knowledgable and helpful, and Thermalflow had the best price I found. I was able to run seven of the eight heating elements with my existing wiring and the supplied cords, and that was enough to get the whole bedroom to 130 degrees and portions of it to 140 for about 5 hours. The equipment worked well, just know that you need four 20-amp circuits to run all eight heater elements. Switching the heater fan off also shuts down the heating elements. So far the results seem good. I’m glad I have the equipment stored in my shop. In the case of a resurgence, re-treatment will be easier.
